Using Too Many Typefaces
We get it - there are thousands of beautiful fonts out there. But using more than two or three typefaces creates visual chaos. Stick to one for headings and one for body text. If you need a third, use it sparingly for accents. Your visitors' brains will thank you.
Ignoring Line Length and Readability
Lines that stretch across the entire screen force readers to work too hard. The sweet spot is 50-75 characters per line. Anything beyond that, and people start losing their place. This is why newspapers use columns, and why your blog posts should too.
Forgetting About Line Height and Spacing
Cramped text feels claustrophobic and difficult to read. A good rule of thumb is setting line height to about 1.5 times your font size. Give your text room to breathe, and readers will actually stick around to finish your content.
Not Considering Mobile Typography
What looks perfect on your desktop might be microscopic on mobile. Test your type sizes on actual devices, not just by resizing your browser. Body text should be at least 16px on mobile, and buttons need to be finger-friendly, not cursor-friendly.
